Veneto
Most people miss much of the Veneto with only a stop in Venice. While it is understood that everyone must see the beauty of Venice, there are many other small cities with treasures of art and a wonderful lifestyle, including Verona and Padova. In addition, you can reach the area where the Alps begin in just a short time with views of charming towns and pretty vineyards for the Prosecco sparkling wines (Italy’s “champagne”). Why not explore Venice and then go beyond…summers are cool and not crowded and winters are wonderful for skiing.
